Southern Ambassador

from $85.00

In the depth of the Atlantic, alongside the Morris Island lighthouse, Chessie the manatee is enjoying his Charleston tour. Chessie’s journey began in Florida. As he swam up the coast, he stopped at Charleston to dine on greens in Hobcaw Creek, near Mount Pleasant. After breakfast, took in the historical sites of Morris island and the Charleston Harbor.

The sun's rays extend across the waters, symbolizing the many people who extended their love and support to save the manatee. Sadly, the habitats that protect manatees (like Chessie) from boats and other human interferences have been destroyed by human beings. This destruction has reduced the population of these Sirens of the Sea to around 2,000 in 1997. Today, the population stands only at approximately 13,000.

May “Southern Ambassador” be a reminder of the plight the manatee and encouragement to extend your love and support to this gentle giant, saving this most lovable future from the brink of destruction.
