Spirits of Angel Oak

from $75.00
sale

The Angel Oak is a live oak, a native tree species found throughout the Lowcountry. The live oak has a wide spreading canopy with large limbs resting on the ground. The mighty oak was about 1,000 years old when Columbus arrived in the Americas. When the Angel family purchased this land in the 1880s, the old tree was already there, thus the name “The Angel Oak.” Although it was named for Martha and Justus Angel, stories and now legends have endured about angels who appear in and around the sweeping branches. Many believe that spirits live in the tree, causing the branches to wave. This great oak is a celebration of life, strength, and endurance!

Size: 31 ½” x 18 ¼”
